prayer of sorrow

"O God. My heart is so overwhelmed by the sorrow of this world. For the friend who's heart is broken over the loss of one she held so dear. For the young man who grieves the loss of limbs and continues to fight a debilitating illness. And for his parents who second guess their decisions and watch in unbearable distress from his bedside. For the aging parents who live each day waiting to die. For the young mother who carries a child in her womb that will never live within her waiting arms. For a government that has no compassion for the unborn. Only You, O God, can intervene in the horrible tragedy of our world and comfort our hearts.  I implore You then to insert Yourself into these situations and bring an undeniable sense of Your hope and peace. It is too much for us to bear alone...O God come. O God hear and do not delay."
