the guilt offering

"The Lord said to Moses...If a person sins and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord's commands, even though he does not know it, he is guilty and will be held responsible. He is to bring to the priest as a guilt offering a ram from the flock, one without defect and of the proper value. In this way the priest will make atonement for him for the wrong he has committed unintentionally, and he will be forgiven. It is a guilt offering, he has been guilty of wrongdoing against the Lord." ~Leviticus 5: 17-29

"These are the regulations for the guilt offering, which is most holy: The guilt offering is to be slaughtered in the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered, and its blood is to be sprinkled against the altar on all sides...The priest shall burn them on the altar as an offering made to the Lord by fire. It is a guilt offering." ~Leviticus 7: 1-5

"See, my servant will act wisely; He will be raised and lifted up and highly exalted. Just as there were many who were appalled at Him--His appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any man and His form marred beyond human likeness. So will He sprinkle many nations, and kings will shut their mouths because of Him. For what they were not told, they will see, and what they have not heard, they will understand." ~Isaiah 52: 13-15

"He was pierced for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him,
And by His wounds we are healed.
We all like sheep have gone astray,
Each of us has turned to his own way;
And the Lord has laid on Him
The iniquity of us all."
~Isaiah 53: 5-6
